Over the years, we have done much work on this road and are always back here for more, which speaks volumes about the reputation we have established with hard work and attention to detail.
Kristina and Nathan recently purchased a house in Greenwich that needed some home improvement to suit their needs. They enlisted our building and refurbishment company to help enhance what was already there. Upgrading the ground floor living space and side access into this 1900s style property, incorporating the original period style fireplaces, ceiling rose and decorative coving.
The interior design briefing called for a wall opening with double pocket doors, plastering and finishing internal divisions, and updating central heating with period radiators. In addition, new herringbone engineered flooring for a smooth finish.
Externally the focus was improving accessibility with side access and patio flooring and the landscape design and build of the patio/garden area and steps with decorative facia with consideration for owner use. In addition, work included but was not limited to a new hollow block retaining wall, a new slot drain for the patio, porcelain tiles for the patio, wall cladding, and new lightning. Additionally, building a new brick wall with columns and coping stones to match the existing London brick wall of the house. Our landscaping team completed the work with new porcelain tiles throughout the patio at the back and side entrance.
This job was initially envisaged for 16 weeks, but due to supply chain delays and little add on’s, it did take 19 weeks to complete. One of the challenges was recycling the bricks and concrete we removed from the existing patio and walls. For this, we hired a mini-crushing machine. Doing this reduced the environmental impact and costs by not removing concrete and importing hardcore back on-site.
