Home extensions and renovations are always a big job, no matter how well you plan them. S & M Solutions Ltd builders were instructed to demolish the existing conservatory, build a new extension, remodel the kitchen, and do significant house renovations. Work also included removing the old boiler and emersion system, installing a new Vaillant gas boiler unvented cylinder, plumbing, establishing a solid fuel fire in the lounge, and rewiring the kitchen and garden. The job also involved internal renovations such as new engineered flooring, hand-building a contemporary bespoke wardrobe in the main bedroom and a plant room/pantry in the new extension, and, most importantly, painting throughout the house.
But as anyone who has attempted home renovations knows, there is always more to do than anticipated. So we had to work beyond our initial contract. We added extra work, such as replastering the walls in one of the bedrooms and installing a new light fixture in the hallway. In the end, though, it was all worth it. The home looks fantastic, and our clients are delighted with the results. So we had to work beyond our initial contract, such as a new floor cassette on the first floor, fitting a new lavatory under the stairs, and re-design the rear garden with unique layouts, including external Porcelain tiles and renovation of two bathrooms. Worth mentioning is the installation of the new 225mm clay pipe drainage under the new extension.
This project was supposed to run for 14-16 weeks, and even with all the challenges faced with Covid19, which brought problems along with late deliveries of materials, including the extra work, we managed to complete it in 21 weeks.
